Parkfiets
Cycling is a symbol of the Netherlands, but cyclists can not always know and find empty parking spaces quickly in the large and jam-packed bike parking lot, such as the ones of crowded Amsterdam Centraal or Utrecht Centraal. Things even get worse if it is rush hour and people are hurrying for the train and so desperate to find a spot to park their bikes. Besides, it's also a tricky problem for the parking lot owner to analyze and manage the utilization of their parking lot efficiently. What if all of these can be solved with a digitalized bike parking lot based on machine learning and data-driven analytics solutions?

Basically, our innovative system utilizes cutting-edge AI technology to digitalize all bike parking spaces. We implement cameras with cutting-edge pattern recognition algorithms to cover the parking lot and segment it into different zones digitally. The camera can recognize the available parking spaces, and then update and visualize the information via heatmap on the screen of the E-display board installed in the parking lot and our app. Cyclists are able to use both the screen and the app to check the zone with more available parking spaces. If they want to mark and save the location where they park for easy fetching, or to be navigated to the parking lot and the empty zone, they can also realize it through the app. For the parking lot owner, no matter it is a public organization or a private company, we can offer custom analytical functions with our data-driven eco-system to help them effectively analyze and manage the utilization and condition of their parking lot. Intuitive analytical visualization and reports can be generated to help them with business decision-making processes and maintenance. For large events held in the Netherlands, the bicycle parking situation is always a mess nowadays because of the sheer scale of people attending them. We also aim to adapt our solution to tackle such a problem. A temporary parking management system with ready-to-install cameras and special computational servers for the event can be easily implemented to eliminate such situations and ensure smooth traffic flow, and easily removed after the event ends. The screens and application would help cyclists easily find empty parking spaces. Further, the analytics would give real-time information to the event organizers, the transport department, and the police department to prepare and act for any unforeseen circumstances. Since one camera is able to cover a large area, just few cameras are already enough to bring off the task in one parking lot. This is very likely to be more cost-efficient than installing censors for every parking spot to detect whether it is occupied. The cameras are only for pattern recognition usage and the footage will be deleted at regular intervals to protect personal privacy and comply with GDPR(or AVG in Dutch). With the help of our eco-system, you can quickly check how many parking spots are available in real time, enabling you to organize your trip accordingly and save time! Say goodbye to the hassle of facing messy bicycle parking and cheer for a stress-free and convenient travel experience!
